Delete your account
You can delete your DeathCube account yourself, from inside the game, in under a minute. You do not need to write to us, and you do not need a Google account: it works for the anonymous account the game creates on first launch as well as for an account linked to Google.
Inside the game
- Open DeathCube and tap your name in the top strip to open PROFILE.
- Tap SETTINGS.
- Tap DELETE ACCOUNT.
- Read the warning, type the word DELETE and tap DELETE FOREVER.
The account is erased on our servers immediately, while you wait. The game then starts over as a new player on that phone. You need an internet connection for this step; offline, the button explains that and nothing happens.
What is deleted
- Your account record: player name, coins, upgrades, shapes and skins, best distances and times, achievements and titles, tutorial state.
- Every run you submitted (distance, time, seed, cause of death and the run's statistics).
- Your rows on every leaderboard (weekly, monthly and all-time, in both modes).
- Your inbox and the record of which news you had read.
- Your player name is released and can be claimed by someone else.
- Your sign-in identity, including the Google link if you added one. Google itself keeps its own record of having signed you in; that is governed by Google's privacy policy.
Deletion is final. Coins, unlocks and records cannot be restored afterwards, and a purchase made in the deleted account cannot be transferred to a new one.
What is kept, and why
- Moderation evidence, anonymised. If the fair-play system ever flagged a run of yours, or a moderator acted on your account, that record stays but the account identifier in it is replaced by the word "deleted". It no longer points at you; it only keeps the leaderboards honest.
- Crash reports and usage analytics are pseudonymous (they do not contain your player name or e-mail) and expire on their own: crash reports after 90 days, analytics per the retention in our privacy policy.
- Data on your phone that belongs to the phone rather than the account, such as the sound and control settings, stays until you uninstall the game.
If you cannot use the game
If the game no longer opens, you no longer have the phone, or you would simply rather ask us: e-mail privacy@viewpoint-studio.com from any address with your player name and, if you have it, the user ID shown on the PROFILE screen. We may ask one question to make sure the account is yours (for an anonymous account, only the phone it lives on can prove that). We complete the deletion within 30 days and confirm it to you by e-mail.
Deleting only some data
There is no partial deletion: the account is one record and it goes whole. If you want a fresh start but wish to keep the account, use the in-game name change instead, or ask us at the address above what is possible in your case.
